Bernard Kipkoech Langat has worked in public health sector for the last 19 years. He started his career with Ministry of Kenya and served in different capacities where he rose through the ranks in public service to the position Senior Programme Officer at Global fund Programme Unit of The National Treasury.

He currently served as Programme Director, Amref Health in Kenya. Prior to joining Amref, Bernard was Senior Manager Internal Development Advisory Services, KPMG Kenya .

He has managed multiple donor funded projects including The Global Fund, USAID, ADB and JICA. He brings wealth of experience in programme management, managing partnership and networking, Strategic planning and Capacity building.

Bernard is medical doctor with Master Science degree in biometry from the University of Nairobi

Kulule Makonnen

Kulule Makonnen Duffera has over 20 years of experience in WASH and public health and which ranges from national and international level to direct program management and implementation support.

She has vast experience of managing large budgets and grants supported by WB, AfDB, EU, CIDA, SIDA, DFID, UNICEF and many more.

Kulule worked as WASH team lead at the Federal Ministry of Health in Ethiopia for 7 years. In this role, she managed the national WASH program for the Federal Ministry of Health, coordinating with the Ministries of Water and Education.

Kulule also served as consultant WASH specialist for WHO and spent 7 years with UNICEF in Ethiopia, when she worked with Federal Government and UNICEF to develop the WASH Annual work plan and participated in the development of key sector documents, including the Government/UN country program documents, Health Sector Transformation Plan (HSTP- Health GTP-2), Universal Access plan for WASH, Ethiopian ONE WASH national program,  the national WASH and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) strategic master plan, the Ethiopian National Sanitation and Hygiene Strategic Plan of Action and Sanitation Marketing Guideline and the business model.

Duke Mobegi

Duke Mobegi is a seasoned Project manager with extensive senior management experience across Eastern and Southern Africa in public health, health financing and Health system strengthening

He has over 13 years’ experience managing different health projects with many donors like CDC, USAID, Global fund and Multinationals like Danone and GSK. Currently Duke serves as a regional project manager for a project funded by GSK in 13 countries.  In this role, he has helped countries implement health projects that have improved and saved many lives. Duke oversees a diverse health program that includes Human resources for health capacity building, nutrition and health system strengthening and WASH.

Duke holds a BA (University of Nairobi) MPH (Moi University). He is also a trained Clinician and currently pursuing a PHD in public health.

Outside of work, Duke loves sports and mentoring young people

Gilbert Wangalwa

In his position, Gilbert Wangalwa provides overall leadership to the project; fosters quality improvement and performance; provides administrative, financial, human resources, monitoring and evaluation oversight, contributes to knowledge management, operations research and advocacy; and responsible for networking, relationship management and compliance. During his 12 year tenure at Amref health Africa in Kenya, Gilbert has been the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor at Amref Health Africa in Kenya. He previously worked with Pathfinder International in Kenya, Merlin in Kenya and Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS). He has published and presented broadly on such topics as maternal health, child health, HIV care, sexual and reproductive health, and Monitoring and Evaluation among others.

Gilbert holds a Masters of Public Health from Maseno University in Kenya and a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Egerton University in Kenya.  He is a long time member of the CORE M&E Working Group, Lot Quality Assurance Sampling Technical Advisory Group, and Health Systems Action Network.

Kassahun Negash has worked in government and non-government organization at different capacity for more than  18  years. He started his carrier as expert on the field of epidemiology focusing on the prevention and control of epidemic prone diseases in Southern Nation, Nationality and People sate. From 2003 to 2008 he worked in Federal Ministry of Health and contributed much in the reform of health system in Ethiopia.

Since 2008 he has been working in Amref Health Africa as project manager, M&E and Research manager and program manager. As responsible person for resource mobilization he was able to initiate and take a lead role in business development and oversee number of projects. He published more than five papers in health development.

Kassahun has MD, MPH and MA in Measurement and Evaluation.

He is passionate about the application of social entrepreneurship and shared value as vehicles for sustainable social impact.

Dr Ndirangu is on a mission to contribute to transformation of the health of people in Kenya by positioning Amref Health Africa to be a leading catalyst for change in the health & wellness sector. The local NGO has an ambitious plan to train 120,000 front-line health workers, improve quality, access to health care, and financial protection from catastrophic health expenditure for 25 million people In Kenya. Dr Ndirangu acknowledges that Amref cannot achieve these alone – therefore ‘we seek shared value partnerships with those who share a common purpose to transform the health of Kenyans for good’.

Dr Catherine Kanari holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from University of Nairobi and Master of Public Health degree from International University of Leeds UK. She has more than 12 years’ experience in the health sector in Kenya; including working in  the public, private and NGO sector. Dr Kanari  joined Amref Health Africa within Amref enterprises limited as the Clinical Lead. Before joining the Amref Enterprises limited, she worked with PS Kenya as the Technical Service Delivery Lead where she provided technical oversight on various programs covering private sector, research for development and communication for prevention strategies. Her docket currently includes a novel public private partnership flourishing in Makueni in kenya with various financing models being explores as well as a consortium program integrating non communicable diseases ( diabetes hypertension and cancer) in Meru county with an envisaged scale up in Rwanda and Ethiopia.
